Mark and Les are really happy to announce that they're taking part in the 2019 Mystery Box Rally / MBR2019.
MBR2018 was an interesting year for Les, having gained a medal for blowing up his engine and not finishing. This year, new car, new co-driver, new theme and a determination to finish. Mark is really looking forward to joining his mate on the rally and driving alongside all the teams for a great cause. For Mark the rally is in remembrance of an awesome big sis (Jeanette) and in memory of a number of good people around us who are struck by cancer. For Les the rally is in remembrance of Ellen Paul and Bill W..
Mystery Box Rally is one of the largest community lead fundraising events for the Cancer Council in Australia having raised over $3.5 million in the last 6 years. Part of the requirements for our participation is to raise a minimum of $3,500 but we hope to raise well above this amount. These funds go to the Cancer Council and we are extremely proud to be doing our part to support such a worthy charity. They do some awesome work supporting people with cancer, and funding important research. Fundraising is the hard part, so any donation you can give is greatly appreciated.
We are starting with a 'clean & tidy, spik & span' white diesel peugeot and since we are going as the 'outback police' or rather 'interieur policier', it will be a black and white police car. We will enforce the rules of the outback, 'règles de l'interieur'. Looking forward to baptizing it in outback fire and red dust.
Our Peugeot is ready for anything even burning sugar cane fields. It should look spectacular after a few days.
Go the Peugeot 405. Have a look at the YouTube video to see the fire resistant characteristics of this Peugeot !!!!! Really amazing. No more overheating and blown head gaskets.

We need your donations or sponsorship, especially as we are the only team from New Zealand and we are coming a long way.
Teams will drive their own 25+ year old cars along a mystery route in this unique 5-day challenge, all in the name of cancer research. The route is a loop starting and finishing at the same location, but all the other details are kept under wraps, only given to the teams each morning.
The rally is not a race – it’s a fun, colourful, unpredictable adventure with participants travelling at their own pace in smaller groups. Vehicles often break down but “we never leave anyone behind” and each night is spent camping beneath the stars and celebrating the day’s achievements. It all adds up to an incredible opportunity to see Australia’s vast and beautiful countryside and make lifelong friends, many brought together after experiencing cancer themselves or seeing cancer impact family and friends.
Since it’s inception the rally has been the largest fundraiser for the Cancer Council nationally."
