Everyone has been or will be touched by cancer at least once in their lives, either personally or through someone they love. Ali and Pete have been and that’s why they decided to enter the Mystery Box Rally again for 2019 and help raise money for the Cancer Council. The Cancer Council is the nation’s peak non-government cancer control organisation and advises the Australian Government and other agencies on practices and policies to help prevent, detect and treat cancer. The Mystery Box Rally along with its big brother the Shitbox Rally have raised $20 million for the Cancer Council over 10 years. You can help Ali and Pete meet their fundraising target and help in the fight against cancer by giving whatever you can -- remember donations greater than $2 are tax deductible. The more people that know about cancer, the work of the Cancer Council and the part Box Rallies plays in the fight against cancer, the greater the impact so please spread the word among your family, friends and work colleagues by liking us on Facebook (www.facebook.com/pg/HenrysDreamMBR) and sharing our page. Teams will drive their own 25+ year old cars along a mystery route in this unique 5 day challenge, all in the name of cancer research. The route is a loop starting and finishing at the same location, but all the other details are kept under wraps, only given to the teams each morning.
The rally is not a race – it’s a fun, colourful, unpredictable adventure with participants travelling at their own pace in smaller groups. Vehicles often break down but “we never leave anyone behind” and each night is spent camping beneath the stars and celebrating the day’s achievements. It all adds up to an incredible opportunity to see Australia’s vast and beautiful countryside and make lifelong friends, many brought together after experiencing cancer themselves or seeing cancer impact family and friends.
Since it’s inception the rally has been the largest fundraiser for the Cancer Council nationally."
